Acme Screw
Nook manufactures precision acme screws and lead screws by thread rolling, thread milling, or thread grinding processes. Each process produces high precision screws with centralized thread forms for smooth, no-wedging performance. Rolled Thread Acme Screws are stocked for quick delivery.
Acme Screw Advantages
- Preloaded nut assembly eliminates backlash
- Safe to operate under static load to hold
- Self-locking - no need for brakes (even in power outage)
- Low noise (no rolling components)
- Ideal for vertical and light/moderate loads
- Eliminates backlash
- Lower cost solution

Largest Selection of Rolled Acme Screws
- ACME SCREW (ROLLED): Cost effective and stocked for quick delivery.
- ACME SCREW (MILLED): Allow more variety in journal machining, particularly when the journal O.D. to be larger than the screw major diameter.
- ACME SCREW (GROUND): Offer higher lead accuracy for applications where positioning tolerances are extremely critical.
